Fiji is best known for its soft corals which are unmatched in the world for the variety of colors.

By request, we have created this rare opportunity to visit the extraordinary Triton Bay immediately after our Raja Ampat Liveaboard!

Triton Bay is one of three regions that comprise the Bird’s Head Seascape which is now considered by marine biologists to be the epicenter of the Coral Triangle and which contains more fish and coral species than anywhere else on the planet.

It is extremely remote, making it still very pristine and underserved. Yay!

Flights from Sorong are just under two hours. We are picked up from the Kaimana airport and transferred to Triton Bay Divers. Boat transfer is 1 – 1.5 hours.

The Resort:

Triton Bay Divers is the first and only Dive Resort at Triton Bay. Since it’s inception in 2015 Triton Bay Divers has been sharing the mind-blowing under and above water world of Triton Bay to the select few. We will now join them! We will be taking over the entire property.

The resort consists of 8 double or triple occupancy bungalows designed to take advantage of fresh winds and tropical surroundings. There is now 24 hour electricity and Wi-Fi available.

All meals are served in a the large open-air dining room where you are surrounded by incredible nature, a huge variety of endemic birds and the ocean always nearby.

There is a separate camera room, the dive shop right on site- and we have booked the entire property!

The Diving:

In 2008 Kaimana Regency declared a 6000 sq km Marine Protected Area around the waters of Kaimana and Triton Bay. The marine biodiversity there is second to none and continues to surprise with new finds every dive. Dubbed by some as “the next frontier of Indonesian diving” and the “last best place”, Triton Bay offers something for everyone both above and below the waves. And best of all you will be one of only a few divers enjoying the waters in this very remote area.

There are so far, over 30 dive sites already identified there and many more yet to explore. Dive sites range from pinnacles to shallow soft coral gardens, huge boulders draped in colorful corals, massive black coral bushes, drift and wall dives, as well as the opportunity for critter hunting. Triton Bay is becoming best known for its beautiful soft coral gardens, some say the most beautiful in the world.

For the majority of our dives it is not necessary to venture deeper than 20m as the shallower parts boast the best coral and fish action. Unfortunately the price we pay for the speculator soft corals gardens and masses of schooling fish of every shape, color and size, is reduced visibility which varies considerably, but averages around 10 ~ 15 meters.

Almost all of the marine creatures found in other parts of Indonesia, too numerous to list, can be found here. The area offers everything from the tiniest pygmy seahorses to large and graceful whale sharks visiting the traditional fishing bagans. Pods of dolphins and marlin have also been seen around these platforms. In addition, the region boasts a number of species found nowhere else, such as the elusive Triton Bay walking shark.

Triton Bay Divers
A recent TripAdvisor review

The location is unreal, not easy to reach but very much worth the effort. You end up in the middle of nowhere just surrounded by incredible nature and biodiversity both underwater and on land. It's a blessing nowadays to be able to experience untouched pristine nature in an area of the world that is so rich in fauna and flora.

The beach is one of the nicest beaches we have ever been to, beautiful white soft sand that you feel like laying in all day long, the minute you step onto shore you forget about sandals or shoes the entire stay. When you wake up at sunrise you hear nothing but the wonderful bird song that is endemic to this area of the world, it calms your heart and soul.
..They call it the last paradise, the last frontier - it is.

We are experienced divers with over a thousand dives all around Indonesia...The diving here is unparalleled, with such a range of biodiversity from whale sharks, dolphins, wobbeggong sharks to pygmy seahorses. The soft corals and seafans come in all colours of the rainbow, you just never can get enough of them and could stare at how beautiful they are all day long.

The fish schools are huge and of all kinds. We also very much enjoyed the macro and were surprised by how much there was even on a reef dive...The dive guides knew the sites like the back of their hand and could find you all the critters...

There was no AC and we never felt we missed it, nights were pleasant to sometimes really cool and cold where we needed a thicker blanket.

Hope to return and stay longer next time. Thank you to the whole team for all the effort invested into creating this slice of paradise."
