If you're up for an adventure, Cabo Pulmo scuba diving won't disappoint. This quaint fishing village sets a new standard for underwater experiences in Baja California.

Cabo Pulmo might be Mexico's most inspiring conservation story. Once fished to the brink, the marine life and diving are now incredible, with a limited number of boats and divers permitted each day. The conditions are easy going, compared to much of Baja, with calm and shallow reefs and some current for drift diving.

The coral reef at Cabo Pulmo is estimated to be around 20,000 years old, making it one of the oldest and most unique coral reefs in the world. The reef is home to over 800 species of marine animals and plants, including several endangered and endemic species, such as the Cortez angelfish and the black skipjack.

This is one of the healthiest reef ecosystems you will ever see, looking much like the rest of Mexico's Pacific did decades ago.

Divers can expect swirling tornados of hundreds of jacks, vast shoals of snapper and grouper, possible mobulas, eagle rays, bull sharks, and California sea lions.

The park is a low-impact paradise above water as well, offering uniquely sustainable experiences on the Sea of Cortez' wild coast.

We will be staying at the solar powered Cabo Pulmo Beach Resort, in unique villas. The entire population of the village of Cabo Pulmo is about 100. It is as quiet as it gets and everything is rustic and relaxed.
